Nexo: expansion of exclusive ‘Alberto Modiani’ collection
Enrico Vuerich: "we've come out of difficult years so we must be able to count on greater market stability" Every edition of Mido brings with it innumerable expectations and this is especially true in recent years. When answering our questions Enrico Vuerich, director of Nexo S.r.l., also spoke for his company. "We've come out of years that have been very difficult for almost everybody" – he said - "so the first requirement for any company is to be able to count on greater market stability. As far as we are concerned, we are extremely satisfied with the way in which Nexo has developed over this period thanks to its 'Alberto Modiani' collection. The customary appointment at MIDO is an opportunity to confirm this positive trend which is also a result of the excellent work by our distributors, with which we have a profitable collaboration in terms of model development and outlet support materials". Fear, hope and perhaps also confidence. In what frame of mind will the sector and your company face 2014? "As I just said, as things stand there is still great uncertainty about the real extent of the economic recovery in various countries, but certainly we must continue to work with attention from a manufacturing and financial point of view, so that we will be ready whenever the moment comes to really turn the page. As far as we are concerned, throughout this period Nexo has invested significant resources in the development of products with good technological content and design, and in the distribution network; we will continue to do so because we believe that it is the right choice for guaranteeing a future". Shape, color, material. Is there a winning hand? "Thanks also to the many small companies that create niche products, eyewear now has a multitude of trends with regard to materials, shapes and colors, even though in the past two years 'vintage' eyewear certainly seems to have taken hold with the relevant modifications. Thanks to the use of plastic in deep colors, it captures the attention of an increasingly vast public seeking original and unique products. Apropos of this, the models in the 'Alberto Modiani' collection will also include some interesting proposals in metal and plastic". Lastly, what new developments will you present at Mido 2014? At Mido Nexo will further expand its exclusive 'Alberto Modiani' collection with a rich range of models that will also meet the needs of a more demanding public. Specifically, there will be a series of models with carbon temples combined with the new plastic material TR90, a wide range of models in plastic with contrasting color combinations and a series of models for children and teenagers, also in plastic and metal. A new creation among new products is an interesting foldable frame for avid readers, which emphasizes our ability to combine technology and design.
