IOS Announces New Lens Edger Made in Canada

Directly from the designer to the customer Canadian manufacturer Innovative Optical Systems (IOS) has announced the release of their new E1 lens edger. Continuing in IOS's tradition of offering amazing value in their products, the E1 has features only found on the most expensive machines, but at a much more affordable price. Among the E1's features is the ability to control the grinding pressure very precisely throughout the edging process. This, plus the ability to vary the clamping pressure, allows for lenses of all types with all coatings to be edged without worry of slippage or damage.   "We are very happy with this edger," says Cory Hubick, general manager of IOS. "Our customers have come to expect a great product that is simple to use and we've achieved that with the E1."   While the E1 uses smart-bevel technology to accurately position the bevel perfectly on any lens, it also allows the user to customize bevel placement if desired. Other characteristics include grooving, polishing, safety chamfering and step beveling. Simple touches like front and rear water nozzles in the grinding chamber, a large 3" drain hole, and a large 7" user-friendly touch screen interface help to round out this feature-packed edger.   "Since IOS designs and builds their products in Canada they offer support that is not possible with an imported product," adds Hubick. "Our customers take comfort in the fact that they're dealing directly with the people who design and build the machines they use."
