Co-branding project for Italia Independent and MC2 Saint Barth

The new collection of swimsuits and sunglasses is Italian with a Caribbean aroma Italia Independent meets MC2 Saint Barth, a company that was set up in 1994 and in just a few years became one of the reference brands in the beachwear sector. Created by two young Italian entrepreneurs who were inspired by the atmosphere of the Caribbean atoll, MC2 spread throughout the world thanks to the charm, energy, elegance and color of its collections. The outcome is a co-branding project that is a blend of the two brands' distinctive characteristics in a synchronized mix of style and technology.   Two product lines are the result of a collaboration that envisages considerable development in communication and distribution. On the one side, swimsuits in two models and 4 variations; these iconic products for MC2 Saint Barth are made from very strong and breathable polyester - one has a comfortable elasticated waist and the other can be adjusted by two ties at the sides - reinterpreted by Italia Independent through the use of some of the brand's most popular patterns. They range from classical black and white "hound's tooth" to "lightning" on a deep blue background, to palm trees with a multicolor motif – a clear homage to summer. The fourth pattern consists of eyewear shapes, specifically 090, repeated over and over on the surface of the swimsuit and featuring a velvet finish.   The sunglasses are based on Italia Independent's most representative model: 090. There are 3 "Unique Edition for MC2 Saint Barth" models which obviously repeat the textures and patterns of the swimsuits. Two models have a neutral black background with the traditional "hound's tooth" and a white palm tree - one of the symbols of the Caribbean that is dearest to MC2. The treatment chosen for these two products is I-Peach, which makes them feel like the surface of the fruit. A must for the deep blue model is the velvet effect obtained with the UV LUX ® treatment, one of the most important innovations introduced to eyewear by Italia Independent and for which it recently received the prestigious award by MIT Review Italy.   The collection was launched on the occasion of two exclusive events that represent the start and finish of an imaginary journey that began in the city and ended at the coast. The first was held on May 29 at the new MC2 Saint Barth flagship store at 3 Via Solferino, Milan; the second took place on May 31 at the Italia Independent store in Alassio.   The products resulting from the collaboration will be available soon at the two brands' mono-brand stores and e-commerce platforms, and in major fashion stores in Italy and abroad.
