Adlens® announces Adlens InterfaceTM

Adjustable eyewear to combat digital eye strain 60% of Americans spend over 6 hours in front of a screen every day, with some 40% not aware of the increased risk this poses to experiencing the effects of digital eye strain, caused by prolonged exposure to the High Energy Visible (HEV) light in backlit screens. Building on the success of award-winning Adlens Adjustables™, Adlens has developed Adlens Interface to help relieve these effects.   The Vision Council recently reported that 70% of adults in the US suffer from digital eye strain due to the rapidly expanding use of smartphones, tablets, laptop and desktop computers and televisions in daily life. Symptoms range from redness and irritation of the eye through to painful head and neck aches, with many sufferers not realizing the cause of their discomfort. These sensations are also intensified when using corrective eyewear that does not adequately account for the "middle distance" focus required to view computer screens.   Adlens Interface is specifically designed to alleviate these symptoms. Based on the same Alvarez lens technology in Adlens Adjustables, Adlens Interface combines continuously adjustable focus with a specially formulated HEV light-reducing tint, allowing the wearer to fine tune their vision for the distance of the screen and reduce digital eye strain at the same time.   In a user test, over 50% immediately noticed the difference when using their computers, preferring Adlens Interface to eyeglasses with clear lenses, whilst 60% saw an improvement when using their smartphones and tablets. Quickly learning how to customise the focussing power of each lens, they were able to adjust their vision to whichever screen they were looking at, without modifying their posture, and benefitting from the digital eye strain-reducing tint.
