
Adlens® Adjustables™ win coveted “iF Product Design Award 2014”
The eyewear based on Alvarez technology came first in the Medicine/Health + Care category Adlens has proudly announced that out of 3,249 entries its variable focus eyewear Adlens Adjustables was awarded the "iF Product Design Award 2014". Based on Alvarez technology, Adlens Adjustables are continuously adjustable, strong and capable of correcting over 90% of spherical errors (from -6 to +3 diopters). Rob Stevens, Chief Technology Officer at Adlens declared: "The combination of all our expertise unites two areas that are normally separate: we are able to simultaneously develop continuously adjustable optical lenses and precisely design the relevant frames. For 60 years, the "iF Product Design Award" has been synonymous with exceptional design at international level and it is a great honor for us to be recognized as the world's best product designers thanks to our creations." Entered in the Medicine / Health + Care category, Adlens Adjustables were assessed by the jury on the basis of criteria such as design quality, finish, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental impact, functionality, ergonomics, safety, the market value of the brand and general design aspects. Together with the other winners of the various categories in the "iF Design Awards 2014", Adlens Adjustables will be presented at the first iF Design Exhibition in the center of HafenCity, Hamburg's hub for contacts between the media and design industries. Adlens Adjustables will also be at the new iF Design Exhibition in Shenzhen, China, from the end of May 2014.
