
Adidas and Silhouette International extend collaboration
The two companies have signed a contract through end-2019 for the sub-brand "Performance" The first license contract between Adidas and Silhouette International was drawn up 22 years ago. Just recently, the contract was signed for another five years – through end-2019 – for the sub-brand "Performance". The Austrian premium eyewear specialist – which is still a family-run business – will continue to contribute to the creation of new standards for sports eyewear with the Adidas label. Currently, the eyewear is made at its headquarters in Linz, Austria, and at Trhové Sviny in the Czech Republic. Thanks to extensive research, its ten years of know-how and curiosity that has led to finding new products, Silhouette International helped Adidas to become established as a leading brand of sports eyewear. Design, materials and, above all, technical solutions for highly functional sports eyewear played a decisive part in its success. "We invest in our licensed brand and we intentionally concentrate on only two brands – Silhouette and Adidas – in order to given them our best. This is why our future collaboration with Adidas will focus exclusively on the "Performance" segment and we will not continue with the Adidas Originals sub-brand", commented Silhouette International CEO Daniel Rogger. Perfect grip on the face and a customizable shape are as important for sports eyewear as having ophthalmic gradations, strength, protection and the best filter: all this is to be found in Performance by Adidas eyewear. High end sports eyewear is distributed by Silhouette International to select optical and sports equipment stores in over a hundred countries throughout the world.
