"Prove Speciali": ready for a new mission
“Prove Speciali” are the tests that Ottica Venturini has been performing on prescription glasses and sunglasses for over 30 years. The main elements for carrying out these tests are indefatigable explorers and leading edge technologies.
The aim of the initiative is to propose tools with the best protection, performance and comfort.
Following the expedition to the California-Nevada-Utah route and to New York City, “Prove Speciali” is returning to the US at Yosemite Park, the Mecca of American climbers. Almost as large as the Aosta Valley region, this immense protected area surrounds the legendary rock climbers’ paradise.
Dominated by the imposing faces of El Capitan, Half Dome, Washington Columns and Leaning Towers, the valley covers an area of only 1,800 hectares and yet it is here that climbers from all over the world congregate.
The project consists of climbing up two or more of the famous rocks, a considerable undertaking of national mountaineering importance. The period chosen is September 12 through 27, 2010.
The special partner for this new edition of “Prove Speciali” is Optox, which will guarantee climbers maximum levels of comfort, even in the areas most exposed to gusts of wind and dust, conditions in which eye hygiene and tear film integrators are essential.
Technical supervision for the expedition will be carried out by Emanuele Stefanelli and Tiziana Ravenna.
