Persol renews its historical link with cinema
Cinema has always been a part of Persol’s DNA: since the Sixties, Persol models have often been the stars of some of the most representative examples of Italian cinematography and they became the personal choice of numerous unforgettable artists and talents in the world of movies and in the international star system.
The strong bond with the world of cinema is represented by the collaboration between Persol and the 67th Venice Film Festival when Persol will be present in the most symbolic locations and will accompany journalists and celebrities throughout the event. Persol will be honored to gift its exclusive models to the celebrities at the Lido.
Last year, the Persol 3-D Award for the most creative 3-D movie went to “The Hole” by Joe Dante. This year, it will again go to the movie with the most creative use of 3-D imaging and will be chosen from those produced and distributed in Italy (or presented at Italian festivals) between September 11, 2009 and August 10, 2010.
The Persol 3-D Award will be presented to the full-length movie that best embodies the new frontiers of exploration in this cinematographic language tool. The members of the jury for the Persol 3-D Award will be selected by the directors of the Festival. Persol is honored to reward a movie that testifies to extraordinary levels of innovation and the constant change in latest-generation technology.
The collaboration is also proof of the brand’s commitment to the world of culture and art of extremely high quality, exclusiveness and refinement, values that have always inspired the development of the Persol collections. Fabio d’Angelantonio, Luxottica Group Chief Marketing Officer, stated: “We are proud to renew our successful collaboration with the Venice Film Festival for the fifth consecutive season. Specifically, for two years now, Persol has been supporting the art of movie making by rewarding the creativity and innovation of 3-D movies which represent a new, avant-garde vision and the most exciting big screen experience.”
