New joint venture for De Rigo
De Rigo Vision Spa has announced its entry in the US and Canadian markets through a joint venture with Marr International Group.
The joint venture began in August 2010 with the distribution of the Celine, Chopard, Givenchy and Furla brands, which will be joined in January 2011 by Police, Escada, Ermenegildo Zegna and Blumarine.
For Police, the main De Rigo Vision’s house brand, the recently signed joint venture will initially include the distribution of the sun models, while the ophthalmic collections will continue to be distributed by its current commercial partner, Eastern States.
Already present in Europe, Asia, Middle East and South America through 14 own branches and over 80 independent distributors, for some time now De Rigo has been looking into solutions for growing its presence in the world’s most important eyewear market and found the ideal partner in Marr International Group.
“I am very pleased about the alliance with Marr International” – stated De Rigo Vision CEO Michele Aracri. “I believe that this important decision by the De Rigo Group has created the basis for strong, ambitious and enduring growth on the North American market to the benefit of the brands in our portfolio and in particular of the labels under license”.
Michelle Tiganila, Marr International Group majority shareholder and entrepreneur of consolidated experience in the distribution of luxury eyewear brands on the American market, commented: "I am very enthusiastic about my new collaboration with the De Rigo Group and I am certain that the prestige and quality of its brands will soon bring us great satisfaction”.
The lines will debut on the market with the 2011 Sun collection, which will be sold in the most prestigious department stores and specialty stores.
