New collaboration with Don Pendleton for Oakley
Don Pendleton was born and bred in West Virginia, USA. Obviously infected by his father’s love of art, he began sketching at the age of nine. At 14, he took up skateboarding, quickly obtained the support of sponsors and rapidly reached the summit at amateur level. But in 1992 he injured his ankle.
Proving that every cloud has a silver lining, Pendleton gave up skateboarding to return to his first love. After graduating in graphic arts in 2004, he began to compile his portfolio by accepting all the commissions he was offered. It was a strong commitment that soon brought results: Pendleton found his style, the personal imprint that still characterizes all his creations. He then decided to combine his two passions, art and skateboarding, and in the years that followed he worked as a graphic artist with skateboard manufacturing companies and as a freelance. At the same time, he produced his own works, which were exhibited at fairs and exhibitions.
With the clear, clean lines of his unmistakable designs and a name that stands out on the artistic skateboard scene, Pendleton proved to be a winning choice for Oakley. The artist’s version of the Fuel Cell model has lenses in Plutonite, a material that filters 100% harmful light rays, optimized by the anti-reflection effect of the Iridium coating.
The frame is robust and extremely comfortable: thanks to lightweight and shock-absorbing O-Matter material, Fuel Cell can be worn all day long without any problem. The "O" logo in metal accentuates the exclusive character of Pendleton’s design and adds the final touch to this really special edition.
