Grimont was set up in 1980 in the heart of the historical eyewear district in Lentiai in the province of Belluno and became an established benchmark for the national and international eyewear sector. In 2005, Grimont was acquired by Giovanni Bronca and Giancarlo Recchia, managers with over 25 years’ proven experience in other sectors, who took over ownership from Giuseppe Gris (the company’s founder and current honorary president). A managerial imprint and a strong spirit of innovation injected the company with new life and soon led to a genuine strategic “revolution”. Maximum attention to customer service, flexibility, innovation and a new, more efficient organization structure with highly-qualified staff became the 4 cornerstones that best define the new season in Grimont’s historical journey. As partner of major national and international brands, the company now has 60 employees, with a technical office that provides customers with an invaluable, tailor-made consultancy service from the design stage to the finished product, an R&D department devoted to new technologies, a design area for product innovation, and a commercial office providing customer care in Italy and abroad. This structure contributes to making Grimont one of the leading main players in the international optical components sector.
The new partners and joint managing directors guide the continual research and innovation process that has enabled Grimont to adapt to market trends and demands and to triple the volume of its business since 2005. Italy is Grimont’s main reference market, but the company is always ready for new business opportunities with a positive eye on the future and aims to expand internationally in such countries as France, Germany, United States and Japan.
