Marcolin part of “The 100 Designer Trees Christmas”

Marcolin part of “The 100 Designer Trees Christmas”

“It is fashioned from the light of heavy metal. It reflects the melody of time. Silence dances as it revolves around itself.”

This is the concept that inspired the Designer Tree created by Marcolin for “Il Natale dei 100 Alberi d’Autore 2010”.

Created in 1994 by Sergio Valente, over the years the event has become a modern-day “Christmas Tale” and again this year it involved 100 famous personalities and the trees they created.

Presented and sold at a gala evening and for seven days thereafter, the proceeds will be used to support the “Young Investigator Program”, an Umberto Veronesi Foundation project for financing research by contributing to the professional training of the most deserving academics from Italy and other countries, worldwide.

The gala evening was held Thursday, December 9, at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei - Villa Farnesina, a Renaissance masterpiece by architect and painter Baldassarre Peruzzi.

These original and exclusive designer creations, open to the public in the days following the gala event, present a new and exciting aspect of the traditional symbol of Christmas. The purchase of these genuinely unique items will make a tangible contribution to the Umberto Veronesi Foundation’s mission to support young scientists.
