Gold for Carrera at World Cup

Gold for Carrera at World Cup

Great results ahead of time for the Carrera Ski Racing Team, which won the SKi World Cup thanks to champions Carlo Janka (Giant Slalom) and Simon Ammann (Ski Jumping).

In Garmisch (Germany), 23-year-old Janka, nicknamed “Iceman” because of his cool, detached approach, thrashed his opponents to win the giant slalom and go to the top of the classification with 1197 points. Another brilliant season for the Swiss athlete: this is his tenth World Cup podium (6 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals). After the spectacular gold in Vancouver, the champion’s talent was recognized by winning the Cup at the penultimate race.

In Lillehammer (Norway), Simon Ammann is the first Swiss in history to write his name on the Ski World Cup. After winning two gold medals at Vancouver 2010, the 28-year-old athlete originally from San Gallo underscored his success by winning in Norway and bringing the number of victories in this season to eight (a career total of 16). With 203 points ahead of his direct opponent in the general classification, Austria’s Gregor Schlierenzauer, Ammann was able to celebrate the prestigious title also one race early.

CARRERA helmets and goggles, essential for the safety of athletes during their incredible performance, were with the CARRERA SKI RACING TEAM during all the races.

The quality of CARRERA products – sunglasses, helmets and ski goggles – is guaranteed by the experience of the Safilo Group.
