Adidas terrex pro wins Plus X Award

Adidas terrex pro wins Plus X Award

Since its launch in 2009, terrex pro by Adidas eyewear has become the top reference for outdoor activities. The multi-award-winning sports eyewear for mountaineering developed by Austrian specialists has achieved a new recognition: the Plus X Award.
An award that Adidas eyewear celebrates with a new series of colors: matte black combined with blue or white. The terrex pro model not only guarantees maximum protection, it also adds a touch of style to the mountaineer’s look.

In the mountains, protection from the sun’s rays is essential: the higher you climb, the more eyes need protection from UV rays and from extreme climate conditions. Professional mountaineers like Thomas and Alexander Huber (GER), Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner (AUT) and Albert Leichtfried (AUT) know this only too well: they have worked alongside Adidas specialists and their experience has contributed to the development of the latest product in the Adidas eyewear range for outdoors. The result: terrex pro, the model that in 2009 won the OutDoor Industry Award when it was launched on the market during the OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen, followed by the red dot design award in March 2010 and now by the Plus X Award. The Plus X Award is given to manufacturers for improvements in the quality of their products. Terrex pro eyewear had excellent results in five of the seven categories in the competition: innovation, quality, design, functionality and ergonomics.

From a technical point of view, an important terrex pro innovation is the Twin Filter™, which can be easily inserted inside the front part of the eyewear when required. The soft expanded padding of Twin Filter™ guarantees perfect fit and stability in addition to helping to protect the eyes in conditions of excessive humidity or cold. The special forced ventilation technology and the anti-fogging coating prevent the eyewear from fogging or freezing. The excellent front filters were designed to cope with a variety of weather conditions and ensure total protection from UV rays.

For the rest, only the best. The material is suitable for extreme temperatures and its incredible lightness makes the eyewear extremely flexible and strong. The temples can be adjusted in three positions for perfect fit. The nose piece also has two positions to adapt to the wearer. The temples have a special automatic release system which protects the eyes in the event of a fall. In extreme conditions in the mountains or when climbing, the temples can be replaced by a strap supplied with the eyewear for perfect grip and total protection at all times. The terrex pro package also includes a pair of orange front filters, a special nose shield, a second nose piece and a pair of spare lenses for the Twin Filter™.

For mountaineers who wear corrective lenses, Adidas eyewear has different options for adapting terrex pro to the exact level of vision correction, including: graduated front filter, Twin Filter™ or a removable optical correction insert.
