36th AdOO conference in April
The next edition of the Conference of the Roll of Optometrists will take place at Grand Hotel in Rimini April 24 through 26. Once again, it will be a scientific meeting of absolute interest to the entire category.
Special guests will include neuroscientist Sue Barry and optometrist Terry Ruggiero who will discuss vision, perceptive and motor training to give additional value to the Conference’s multidisciplinary and scientific nature.
Dr. Mario Marchiori (psychologist, expert in learning problems during development and chief coordinator of the Consensus Conference on Dyslexia) will illustrate the possibility of an interdisciplinary approach to vision problems in children with learning difficulties. A comprehensive session completely devoted to this aspect will be held thanks also to two invaluable contributions.
The first comes from the Bicocca University of Milan which has organized an important meeting with such experts as Dr. Elisabetta Ferrante, Dr. Bruno Garuffo, Dr. Massimiliano Parmini and Dr. Simone Santacatterina (optometrists), Dr. Gianluca Lista (pediatrician), Dr. Piera Braga (researcher in pedagogy), Prof. Viola Macchi Cassia and Dr. Chiara Turati (professor and researcher in psychology, expert in cognitive development).
The second comes from Luigi Seclì, optometrist and contract professor at the University of Salento for the Optics and Optometry degree course. His talk will focus on vision hygiene and prevention at school age.
A subject that the Roll of Optometrists and Federottica have always shared and supported (see Bimbovisione project).
With renewed enthusiasm, the coordinators of the Roll of Optometrists welcome a scenario in which new and recognized professionals will meet to discuss pediatric subjects. It is an unequivocal sign of professional growth and richness.
