V4-20 by Sola Sunlens: Cool & Tech

The most updated looks and the very popular means, wrapped sunglasses and extreme curved lenses: Sola Sunlens has committed itself in meeting that specific market request by designing a new lens shape, the V4-20.

Sola Sunlens, thanks to the futuristic thinking from our R&D laboratories, has appositely designed and developed an exclusive mould able to assure the most sophisticated fashion representative accessory and an instrument able to offer a perfect view.

The V4-20 patented technology has been projected with space in mind: here 4 represents the flattest base, while 20 represents the maximum curvature of the lens.

V4-20 main features and benefits:
- it need not be tilted to provide wrapping: the optical centre occurs at the geometric centre of the lens blank and the lens need to be fitted to a frame without introducing any wrap. To cut and edge is easier than using a decentred lens;
- the front surface shape is rotationally symmetric: thanks to the wide spherical zone centred on the symmetric front, the V4-20 optical performance is assured;
- the tangential curvature varies from 4D at the centre to a top level of 20D, then flattering at the temporal edge. Not only an issue of design. In fact the 4D makes V4-20 flat but rounded enough to avoid eyelashes to touch the back of the lens and permit the air circulation on the eye, while the 20D assures the best mix design/performance.

V4-20 is designed to meet all the optical standards: EN 1836 (1997) Optical Class 1, ANSI Z80.3 (2001), AS/NZS 1067.1 (1990/2003). Visual clarity and comfortable vision for the wearer. The V4-20 thickness has been appositely fixed to meet the likely destination of this lens, that is rimless, brow-bar and 3 piece sunglasses. This specific thickness gives weight and importance to this lens, making it crack-resistant to drillings and set it.
