'European Master PureVision fitter' 2004 competition
After the success of the last edition, Bausch & Lomb will be repeating the appointment with the 'European Master PureVision fitter 2004', recognition for opticians who have put their faith in the company and the product and have made sure customers understand about the innovation and advantages of this lens.
2004 has been an important year for PureVision as the range has been extended to include the new PureVision Toric contact lens.
In the last edition of the competition, the winner for Italy was Dario Ricci of Ottica Ricci, Siena, whereas the Danish optician, Kontaktlinseinstituttet, was selected from the best contactologists in 11 countries for the European title.
In order to take part in the competition, which is aimed at opticians, optometrists and fitters throughout Europe, an entry form should be obtained from the Bausch & Lomb area representative and sent to the company by January 15, 2005. Entry forms are based on various criteria which include dedication to contactology, outlet personnel enthusiasm in promoting innovative products, the outlet's promotional activity, sales results and the advantages obtained by including PureVision lenses as part of the outlet's offer.
The competition has two stages:
1. National stage: after a first selection at national level, local winners from the various countries will be entered for the European title. In collaboration with Bausch & Lomb, each national winner will be given the opportunity to organize a PureVision promotional day when it will offer its customers a 30-day free trial of the continuous use contact lenses. Bausch & Lomb will also offer a reception for the personnel of the winning store and a plaque to display in the outlet. In addition, in spring 2005 the national winner and a guest of his/her choice will be invited to spend a weekend in Brighton and take part in the Bcla conference, during which the European winner will be announced.
2. European stage: the European PureVision Master Fitter 2004 will be selected by an authoritative jury which will include Professor Mark Ritson, commercial leader of the prestigious London Business School, Bo Lauenborg, the winner of the last competition, and Tom Buris of Kontaktlinseinstituttet, Denmark. The European winner will receive a plaque and a supply of advertising material including direct mails and brochures produced specifically to increase lens-wearer interest and fitting-center loyalty.
