Sola Sunlens Sports Collection

Research, creation and experimentation has led to the upcoming launch of the Sola Sunlens Sports Collection - Evolution 2004, a range of unique lenses that have achieved specific levels and well-defined plus points. 'To produce them' Stefano Bossi, Product&Marketing Manager at Sola Sunlens, explained 'we took the main vision parameters in to account: those concerning the sensory system and those involving motion, thought processes and visual concentration'.

Last year, Sola Sunlens had already launched a series that aroused a fair amount of interest and included an ophthalmic version: the Performance Lens Series (Pls). The original Pls aimed at 5 specific categories: sports on grass playing fields, snow-covered slopes, driving, mountainous areas and water.

Pls was launched again this year in the original version and in the Pls Variant and Pls Glare-out versions, to give sports enthusiasts alternatives for, respectively, different light conditions and, thanks to the polarizing filters, the neutralization of annoying reflections.

With Pls lenses specifically, visual contrast and focus flexibility are optimized. Contrast sensitivity means that even the smallest details can be seen from a distance (like the narrow borderlines of a playing field) and individual colors can be distinguished against a background, even in changing light conditions. Focus flexibility keeps an object clearly in focus while it is approaching or moving away.

In addition to Pls, the new sports collection presents the exclusive Active Function Series (Afs): 5 innovative lenses with 'Specific filtering technology'. The names of the 5 Pls lenses already provide a clue to the special benefits for athletes' eyes: Image Definer, Ir Controller, Blue Reducer, Acuity Enhancer, Spectrum Balancer.

Afs helps athletes by filtering out the suns rays to increase visual acuity and dynamic vision: vision acuity keeps sight and image definition clear and guarantees comfort and safety; dynamic vision keeps vision sharp while running or at rest, so that all obstacles can be seen clearly. It also improves reaction times during performance peaks.

Sola Sunlens also offers special lenses for fishing and target shooting, two activities that have a very large following, especially in the Us.
