Silhouette grows in 2003

Silhouette posted a consolidated turnover for 2003 (1 February 2003 - 31 January 2004) of Euro 230 million, reflecting a 15% increase compared to the figure of Euro 200 million at 31 January 2003.

Specifically, for the year ended 31 January 2004, the company sold 2,850,000 pairs of Silhouette glasses (13% sunglasses, 87% ophthalmic), 970,000 pairs of Adidas glasses (60% sun/sports, 40% ophthalmic) and 105,000 pairs of Daniel Swarovksi glasses (24% sunglasses, 76% ophthalmic).

The top-selling product was Titan Minimal Art, which has sold over 5 million pieces since its launch in 1998. This marks a 28.77% increase compared to the figure of nearly 4 million last year: in particular, 3,741,000 ophthalmic frames and 1,294,000 sunglasses were sold as of 29/02/2004.

Silhouette exports 95% of its production to over ninety countries. Last year, 24% of its turnover was generated by the US branch, whereas the Italian branch represented 5% of the firm's aggregate turnover.
