Michael Kors Collection license goes to Marchon

Marchon Eyewear has announced the acquisition of the exclusive world license for the production and distribution of the Michael Kors Collection of eyewear, which joins the Michael Michael Kors brand for which Marchon already has the worldwide exclusive.

Michael Kors is considered to be one of the most important American designers of high-class sportswear. Set up in 1981, the company that carries his name currently produces a vast range of products with the Michael Kors Collection and Kors Michael Kors labels, as well as the recent Michael Michael Kors label, which includes a prêt-à-porter line for men and women, accessories and a line of perfumes and beauty products for men and women.

The designer stated: 'Glasses are an accessory of major importance for me; there is nothing that completes a look more than a lovely pair of sunglasses'. John Idol, Ceo of Michael Kors (usa) Inc., added: 'With Marchon as our new partner we are expecting growth to boom. I am convinced that their huge experience will help us to achieve our objective of becoming a leading company in the eyewear sector'.

Al Berg, Ceo of Marchon, declared: 'The Michael Michael Kors collection and the Michael Kors Collection were both presented in September 2004 at Vision Expo West. The new sunglasses and vision models are a genuine reflection of the quality, style and creativity that are now synonymous with the Michael Kors brand'.

Marchon plans to launch the collection on international markets during 2005 and 2006.
