
Marcolin: collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana to continue for 15 months
Following the press release in which the Luxottica Group and Dolce & Gabbana announced that they had signed a license agreement starting from January 2006, Marcolin SpA pointed out that with the current contracts signed with Dolce & Gabbana it is entitled to produce and distribute the Dolce & Gabbana Eyewear and D&G Dolce & Gabbana Eyewear lines for the next 15 months, in other words until the contract expires December 31, 2005.
Referring to the unexpected communication, Marcolin confirmed that it had been agreed to begin discussions with the Luxottica Group on possible commercial synergies between the respective structures. These synergies will also aim at further enhancing the Dolce & Gabbana and D&G Dolce & Gabbana eyewear lines on the market.
Marcolin management also confirmed that it was confident about consolidating the growth of all the other brands in its portfolio at the same time as starting or completing agreements for new initiatives. He repeated that, in any case, the current year's revenue trends are positive.
br>In this respect, the company repeated the information given in previous communications to the effect that it had signed a license agreement with Kenneth Cole Productions Inc. for the production and distribution of ophthalmic glasses and sunglasses with Kenneth Cole New York and Reaction Kenneth Cole labels in the US optics channel.
The company underscored that the Marcolin Group closed the last financial year with billings of around 157 million euros, approximately 48% of which came from the Dolce & Gabbana Eyewear and D&G Dolce & Gabbana Eyewear lines.
