
France: the birth of AO.Sola Optique
Within a reorganization framework to improve the positioning of the AO and Sola brands in France, a new company will be created starting February next: AO.SOLA Optique.
According to the company, the strategy of amalgamating the two brands on the French market aims at increasing the range of products and at strengthening the sales organization.
The American Optical group has been owned since 1996 by the San Diego-based Australian-American giant, Sola Optical, which currently has a market presence in 50 countries worldwide.
Sola, whose 2003 billings were 563 million dollars, every year produces 110 million lenses, it has 11 facilities, 31 laboratories, a research and development center and 67 distributors in 28 countries.
