Essilor: nine-month 2004 sales

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2004, Essilor International reported consolidated sales of 1.7 billion Euros, up 8.7 percent from the year ago period.

On a like-for-like basis, sales were up 7.1 percent for the period. Companies acquired in 2003 and 2004 added 5.3 points to growth, while the currency effect was a negative 3.7 points.

Based on like-for-like growth, business is continuing to trend upwards in all markets: Europe 827.6 millions of euro (+4%), North America 702.4 millions of euro (+8.7%), Asia-Pacific 132.3 millions of euro (+15.4%), Latin America 39.9 millions of euro (+15.5%).
