Competition for eyewear designers

February 15, less than a month away, is the closing date for entering the International Design Competition, 'Jeunes createurs à vous de voire', for young eyewear designers.

The Jura Spectacle Association, with 36 member companies, started up this event to give young designers and students the opportunity to express their creativity in the eyewear sector, to offer a springboard for the most creative amongst them, and to make French eyewear more dynamic.

The competition has two sections, one for young professionals and one for students of any nationality. The selected work will be made into prototypes and the winners will receive a cash prize (4,000 euros for 1st place, 2,300 for 2nd place, 1,500 for 3rd place, and 500 for the runners up), but more importantly they will be given the chance to display their work at Silmo, at the St. Etienne International Design Biennial, and at the Spectacle Museum at Morez; it will also be published on the Lunetiers du Jura Internet site. .
