Barberini: excellent results for Plz 1.8

Plz 1.8, the high-tech polarized lens presented between April and May, has been welcomed by the world's eyewear industry.

The polarized sunglasses lens is the result of Barberini research which aimed at offering a product that is lighter, more effective and gives more protection. As the name suggests, it is only 1.8 mm thick (compared to the previous generation's 2.3): less material and more technology for even better vision quality.

Plz 1.8 has already been used for the new Revo, Persol and Ray-Ban collections by the Luxottica Group.

The RE 3049 093/J3 model in the Revo collection combines a metal front-piece and flex temples in soft-touch opaque acetate. The frames are generous with decisive, well-defined lines that look really good on a male face. The flex temples have Hytrel end-pieces and the Revo logo is printed on the temples and inside the nose-piece. The glass lenses are of course Barberini's Plz 1.8 with shaded mirroring and a polarizing filter. The model comes in six color variations where dark shades, like all black and smoke gray, prevail to provide the utmost in protection and screening. The color of the frames in the 093/J3 version is polished steel with gray, slightly mirrored lenses.

The Predator - RB3245 model in the Ray-Ban collection also has Barberini's Plz 1.8 lenses. The frames are in metal and feature a streamlined, sporty design. The temples are almost entirely coated with soft Hytrel, a material that guarantees comfort and secure fit while adding to the eyewear's gutsy and sporty look. The striking metal hinge is enhanced by the engraved Ray-Ban signature. Model RB3245 comes in seven color variations with glass lenses, including the ultra-thin polarized version. Shades are classical and mainly dark to guarantee optimum protection.
