Allison acquires Dunhill license

In an interview with Milano Finanza Fashion, Silvio Vecellio Reane, president and chief executive of Allison, made public that a production and distribution licensing agreement has been signed with Dunhill, a company of the Richemont Group.

'The five-year contract is renewable for a further five years and is purely for men's eyewear frames, although some of the more sporty models could also be worn by women', Reane said. At the beginning there will be 35 models, made in such materials as gold laminate and titanium.

This first collection should be presented at Mido 2005 but, according to the Milan daily reports, it will be accompanied by something completely new: an eyewear collection (for men and women) by Mercedes, the German car manufacturer with which Allison should be signing a long-term production and distribution license any day now.

In the meantime, at the next Silmo Allison will be presenting the first Missoni Eyewear collection, the result of last June's licensing agreement.
