Afflelou continued growing in the first quarter
In the first quarter of business 2004-2005 (May, June and July), total sales in Alain Afflelou Group the franchising network grew by 23% thanks to the combined effect of new store openings in the previous year and the significant increase in the sales of exclusive products (+61%).
The period in question witnessed the opening of 7 new Alain Afflelou stores in France and 3 in Spain. Two Optique Carrefour stores left the Group (due to sale and termination of activity respectively).
As regards the new Plurielles Opticien name, 28 new openings are scheduled by the end of the year.
As of July 31, Group stores numbered 693, with an increase of 183 over the previous financial year.
