Marcos Bulacio
CEO of Pangea MovementBio
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Marcos started his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 15, launching his first e-commerce business while still in high school. With a diverse background in business, sociology, and music and a passion for innovation and systemic thinking, he took on the role of General Manager at his family company at 21, successfully transforming it to grow its annual revenue from $700K to $2.5M in 3 years.
His interest in the fashion industry was sparked when he was selected to work as a fashion model while managing his family business, culminating in his participation in the Milan Fashion Week 2015.
In 2016, Marcos left the runways and his GM role to embark on a one-year life-changing journey around the world, where he witnessed the devastating effects of plastic pollution and climate change on the environment.
Driven by a desire to create meaningful impact and use business as a force of good, he enrolled in Harvard and took a program of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in 2017 to develop the skills needed to turn bold ideas into real solutions.
This vision led to the founding of Pangea in 2019, a company built on a simple yet ambitious mission: to create sustainable outdoor products that clean and regenerate our planet instead of polluting it.
Based in Bali, Indonesia—one of the world’s largest contributors to ocean pollution—Marcos believes in a circular economy where waste becomes a resource, not a burden.
In 2022, Pangea started converting plastic waste from its cleanups into recycled eyewear to fund more cleanups. To date, their efforts have powered to clean over 120,000 kilograms of waste from mangrove forests and rivers while delivering thousands of products globally to 80+ countries.
Now, Pangea is expanding its impact. Through Regenesis, a spin-off launched to revolutionize the eyewear and fashion industry, the company is expanding from direct-to-consumer (D2C) to business-to-business (B2B). Leveraging advanced plastic science and nanotechnology at their lab in Bali, Regenesis is developing cutting-edge recycled materials to enable any brand to become circular, cut their carbon emissions, and also clean the planet.
With Regenesis, Marcos envisions scaling Pangea’s work globally, empowering businesses to decarbonize their supply chains and embrace genuine sustainability. By leveraging science-driven solutions and utilizing their materials, Regenesis helps companies achieve their sustainability goals without greenwashing—transforming fashion into a regenerative force.
