All'azienda anche gli oltre 125 negozi del marchio in Spagna e Portogallo Luxottica Group S.p.A. ha annunciato il 17 maggio di aver firmato un accordo in base al quale acquisirà gli oltre 125 negozi specializzati nel segmento "sole" a marchio Sun Planet anche in Spagna e Portogallo.   Nel 2011 Luxottica aveva infatti acquisito dallo stesso venditore i punti vendita della catena Sun Planet in Sud America, facenti parti di Multiopticas Internacional. L'operazione prevede la graduale conversione dei punti vendita al marchio Sunglass Hut, la principale catena al mondo specializzata nel segmento "sole". Il valore complessivo della transazione, il cui perfezionamento è previsto nel terzo trimestre del 2012, è di circa 20 milioni di euro.   La rete di punti vendita Sun Planet è composta da oltre 90 negozi di occhiali da sole in Spagna e oltre 30 in Portogallo, principalmente presenti nei centri commerciali delle più importanti città?e località turistiche. Nel 2011 le vendite di Sun Planet sono state pari a circa 22 milioni di euro. In 2011, Luxottica acquired from the same seller the Sun Planet retail chain in Latin America, which was part of Multiopticas Internacional.   The transaction, which is expected to close during the third quarter of 2012, involves an enterprise value of approximately Euro 20 million.   The Sun Planet retail chain operates approximately 90 sunglass retail locations in Spain and approximately 30 in Portugal, mainly in select malls and tourist destinations. In 2011, net sales of the chain totaled approximately Euro 22 million.
