Compagna di avventure del campione: la maschera Klonyx MX firmata Rudy Project Cyril Despres ha stravinto la Dakar 2012 ottenendo il quarto successo personale nel leggendario rally del deserto, disputato quest'anno in Sudamerica fra Perù, Argentina e Cile.   Un crono complessivo di 43 ore 28'11", con un vantaggio di 53'20" sul secondo classificato, hanno reso imbattibile il pilota francese, già tre volte campione Dakar nel 2005, 2007 e 2010, che dopo aver tagliato il traguardo di Lima ha dichiarato: «Vincere è stato semplicemente fantastico, perché questa è stata senza ombra di dubbio la Dakar più dura a cui abbia mai partecipato».   Insieme al grande campione ha vinto la 34ma edizione di questa affascinante corsa anche la Rudy Project, che al rider transalpino ha fornito la speciale maschera Klonyx MX.
