Il "vetro" come materiale per la produzione di lenti sta vivendo una seconda giovinezza La ricerca sullo sviluppo delle lenti per protezione solare in vetro, non si ferma alla sola realizzazione delle lenti, ma si arricchisce di un passaggio in una fase precedente, molto importante.   La Barberini S.p.A. ha acquisito circa due anni or sono, la Divisione Oftalmica della Schott AG. Gli impianti di fusione del vetro ottico sono restati nella installazione originale a Grünenplan in Germania. L'azienda ha preso il nome di Barberini GmbH e produce vetro per applicazioni oftalmiche, dalla protezione solare ai vetri per ottica oftalmica e di precisione.   La nuova Direzione Aziendale ha subito dato uno sviluppo marcato alla Ricerca potenziando il reparto con nuovi ricercatori. Naturalmente la Barberini è nota nel mondo per le lenti solari in vetro e quindi uno dei filoni di ricerca principali per il reparto R&D della GmbH, è stata la "Protezione solare". I risultati non si sono fatti attendere e anzi possiamo affermare che il "vetro" come materiale per la produzione di lenti, sta vivendo una seconda gioventù!   Molti nuovi vetri fanno oggi parte della offerta che la Barberini può presentare alle aziende che utilizzano le nostre lenti. Abbiamo oggi lenti in vetro, che possono filtrare la luce UV fino a 400 nm ed oltre, facilità di promuovere nuovi colori senza dover affrontare fusioni importanti, lenti fotocromatiche alle quali è possibile conferire una gamma di colori incredibile, nuovi originali colori nel vetro ed infine sono stati fatti studi importanti sui vetri contenenti Terre Rare ovvero sui vetri che hanno la proprietà di migliorare la percezione dei colori (Color Enhancement).Oltre questi sviluppi sulla materia prima, ci sono tutte le ricerche sulle tecniche di produzione delle lenti, sempre più affidabili e costanti nella qualità.   Per migliorare la diffusione di queste conoscenze, abbiamo pensato di creare durante Mido 2012 una opportunità di incontro tra i tecnici della Barberini e gli addetti allo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti, nelle Aziende che realizzano occhiali da sole.   Il giorno 11 marzo 2012 i nostri tecnici: Reinhard Kassner, Katja Engel e Alfonso De Luca saranno presso il Pad. 22 stand D01 per rispondere alle domande e alle curiosità di quanti hanno in progetto l'utilizzazione di lenti in vetro nella protezione solare e nell'oftalmica.   Per avere uno spazio dedicato e riservato, sarebbe molto utile prevedere un appuntamento che può essere facilmente prenotato, chiamando in Azienda la Sig.ra Pina Torelli via e-mail a p.torelli@barberini.eu. "Glass" for lens production, is living a second youth Research on glass lens development for sun protection does not stop only at lens production but moves onwards and gains a further step ahead which, in the production cycle, comes first and is very important. Barberini S.p.A. acquired the Schott AG Ophthalmic Division about two years ago. The optical glass melting system remained in its original site in Grünenplan, Germany. The company took the name of Barberini GmbH and produces glass for ophthalmic application, going from sun protection to optical precision tools.   The new Company Management immediately gave a marked development to Research optimizing the department with new researchers. Of course Barberini is known throughout the world for glass sun lenses therefore one of the main research points for the R&D department in GmbH is "Sun protection". The results did not hesitate to come but rather we can say that "glass" for lens production, is living a second youth!   A lot of new types of glass are now part of Barberini's offer for companies that use their lenses. Today we can offer glass lenses that filter UV up to 400 nm and over, the possibility to promote new colors without having to face important melts, a wide range of shades for photochromic lenses, new original colors and finally; as important studies on Rare Earths contained in glass have been made, also improved color perception (Color Enhancement) but obviously there's much more....   Apart from the development concerning this raw material, there are also technical researches regarding the production of the lenses, always more reliable and constant in quality standards. To improve the awareness of all this, we have created an opportunity for our technicians and who takes care of our new product development inside Barberini with the companies who produce sunglasses.
