DealsDaddy – a price-comparison website - has analysed the Instagram presence of the 15 most important sportswear brands according to FashionUnited, ranking them according to main and related hashtags.
It revealed that Nike is top of the list, with an amazing 151 million hashtags and 301 million followers. What makes Nike stand out is its extremely professional content. Life stories of famous athletes provide added value to the content strategy.
Adidas adopts a slightly different Instagram approach and comes in as runner-up with over 87.6 million hashtags and 27.6 million followers. The brand focuses much more on product image than brand endorsers.
Rounding off the Top 5 of sports brands with the highest number of hashtags on Instagram, we find: Puma (19.08 million hashtags and 12.9 million followers) which recently launched a capsule collection with Dua Lipa, protagonist of the latest posts; New Balance (12.91 million hashtags and 7 million followers) with a strategy focused on both athletes and sportswear; and Reebok (11.82 million hashtags and 4.3 million followers), strongly focused on the product.
