Waiting for MIDO 2023: we meet Götti Switzerland.

Written by MIDO | 12/08/2022

From 4 to 6 February 2023, MIDO is back at Fieramilano Rho. This year will offer an edition that is more than ever focused on internationalism and sustainability, during which all industry stakeholders can firstly strike up business agreements and do some networking, but also have exclusive previews from the entire industry. The role of the Milan event, however, stretches beyond the purely commercial aspect because MIDO represents for everyone an unmissable opportunity for discussion, reflection, education, exchange and sharing of ideas, designed and aimed at opticians from all over the world.

While waiting to meet up in person at the event, we met some of the event’s protagonists. Today we give the floor to Sven Götti Switzerland, owner and founder of Götti Switzerland.

How many years have you been attending MIDO and why have you always confirmed your presence?

We started to exhibit at the MIDO back in 1999. To us, the MIDO is the most international fair with a very good image in the entire world.

What have been your company's main steps from MIDO 2022 to today?

Since 2022 we are constantly extending our 3D Printed Dimension in ‘house’ production, as well as our rimless frame system Perspective.

Sustainability is such a topical subject that MIDO has created the CSE award: how do you deal with this issue?

To start a ‘in house’ eyewear production in Switzerland is a challenging adventure, but also a very sustainable way to produce eyewear. Since we produce our frames in Switzerland on demand, we are able to deliver faster with fewer overplus. We even found ways, to reuse the waste material, wich every 3D Printing Production is facing.

What are the main innovations you will propose at MIDO 2023?

We keep on developing new features in terms of material, technical solutions and custom made sizes for all our 3D Printed Eyewear.

Is there a model you are focusing on?

It is even a surprising frame line, which we are focusing on, which even could be interesting for your CSE award.
