Vision Defense Commission at the Race for the Cure 2024 in Bologna
From September 20 to 22, free eye screenings will be offered in the spirit of prevention
After events in Rome and Bari, Vision Defense Commission ETS will participate in the Race for the Cure 2024 in Bologna, providing free vision checks in collaboration with AMOA ETS – Association of Ophthalmologists for Africa and Federottica Bologna.
At the Giardini Margherita in Bologna, attendees can get free visual tests performed by industry professionals who will detect and highlight any visual impairments or anomalies. Screening hours are as follows: Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM.
For eight years, Vision Defense Commission ETS has supported the Race for the Cure, the largest event in Italy and worldwide for breast cancer awareness, which celebrates its 25th edition this year. The event aims to raise awareness about research, well-being, and prevention at all ages. During the three-day event, attendees can benefit from specialized consultations and diagnostic exams to encourage healthier lifestyles and the protection of their health.
Technology partners and market leaders ZEISS, ESSILOR, and Frastema Ophthalmics will provide their best equipment for the vision tests.
"During the Bologna event in 2023, a total of 584 services were provided at the Health Village, over 280 of which were related to vision health checks," says Vittorio Tabacchi, President of Vision Defense Commission ETS. "This is a significant result that highlights the importance of promoting prevention and well-being. This year, we aim to further increase this number, with the goal of reaching and raising awareness among more people about eye health and other essential quality-of-life issues. This year, the city will warmly welcome the 18th edition of our initiative, showing how crucial prevention and health care are. This enthusiasm from the community motivates us to continue with even greater determination, aware of how essential it is to offer services that can make a difference in people’s lives."
