Valentino Unveils the First Sunglasses Designed by Alessandro Michele
The brand stands out with the launch of the first model created by its new creative director, Alessandro Michele.
An Iconic Debut for Alessandro Michele with Valentino
Valentino has unveiled the first pair of sunglasses designed by Alessandro Michele. Known for his eclectic style and love for the Seventies, the designer reinterprets the iconic round sunglasses inspired by John Lennon, enhancing them with oversized proportions.
The frames, made of lightweight gold-colored metal and featuring black acetate temples, showcase distinctive details such as the Valentino “V” logo engraved on the arms and nose pads.
Exclusive Collection Details
These sunglasses are part of Valentino's Cruise Spring 2025 collection, titled "Avant les Débuts Spring 2025", the first entirely curated by Michele. Available in three vintage-inspired lens colors – dark green, amber, and light green – the model is already available for purchase at €490 in Valentino boutiques and on the official website. Distribution will expand to selected stores starting in February 2025.
The Partnership with the Akoni Group
Since July 2022, Valentino has been collaborating with the Swiss group Akoni for the design, production, and distribution of its eyewear collections, through a ten-year licensing agreement.
With this first creation by Alessandro Michele, Valentino aims to strengthen its position in the eyewear industry, blending creativity, heritage, and innovation.
