Tom Davies keeps the combination of glasses and cinema alive.
From Warner Bros. to Disney, British eyewear designer Tom Davies has spent more than a decade creating bespoke frames for leading characters in a number of hit movies.
Arguably his most coveted assignment was to reinterpret the iconic frames for the fourth installment in The Matrix film franchise, The Matrix Resurrections. Other distinctive designs include Clark Kent's glasses, as worn by Henry Cavill in the 2016 blockbuster Superman V Batman, and eyewear that followed Cruella's metamorphosis in Cruella, which has just received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design.
Tom's foray into the movie industry began in 2005 when he was asked to design frames for Rowan Atkinson to wear in the black comedy Keeping Mum. He has gone on to produce glasses for more than a dozen major Hollywood films. These include Angelina Jolie in the 2010 movie The Tourist, Brad Pitt in the epic 2016 WW2 film Allied and Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal in the 2019 Spider-Man: Far from Home.
