The absorption plan for workers at the Longarone plant acquired by Thélios has been completed ahead of schedule
A few months after the closing of the operation that saw Thélios acquire the former Safilo plant in Longarone, the eyewear expert of the LVMH Group has almost completed the integration of approximately 250 workers who have joined the team, ahead of the timeline set by the industrial plan.
The company also maintains its commitment to the region and announces an investment plan for the restructuring of the complex dedicated to metalworking for the production of frames for the LVMH Group’s Maisons, which have entrusted Thélios with the creation, production, and distribution of their eyewear lines. Thus, a campus of excellence is established, employing over 1,300 people in the region.
“We are very pleased to have completed the worker integration process well ahead of the initial schedule outlined in the industrial plan,” stated Alessandro Zanardo, CEO of Thélios. “The constant growth in demand for Thélios's made-in-Italy eyewear collections, known for their recognized quality, and Thélios's strong commitment to reviving production in the acquired premises have made the faster integration of people possible.
Furthermore,” Zanardo continues, “we are now pleased to commence the restructuring works of the plant, which will allow us to further improve the organization of spaces and enhance the facility adjacent to Thélios's main headquarters. This is a strong signal intended to once again demonstrate the Group's desire to continue investing in the region and safeguard the unique know-how present in the Belluno district.”
The restructuring project will cover both the external facades of the building and the internal surfaces of approximately 20,000 square meters, allowing the architectural style of the plant to be harmonized with that of the Manifattura inaugurated in 2018. The restructuring work will be carried out in phases, allowing production activities to continue without interruption.
The lighting and ventilation systems will be improved, providing not only greater comfort for the workers but also significant energy savings through the use of sustainable materials. Workers will also benefit from common areas, outdoor green spaces, and a canteen that will serve the entire team. The construction site will begin at the end of July, and the work will be completed by the end of the year.
