A series of conferences to explore the role of the Ecomuseum as a tool for the development of the Belluno region and its enterprises, featuring experts and industry stakeholders

The "Terre dell'Occhiale – Ecomuseum of Belluno Eyewear" project continues its journey in enhancing the industrial heritage of the Belluno district with a series of conferences held at the Eyewear Museum in Pieve di Cadore. This initiative, aimed at promoting the culture and history of Belluno eyewear, will take place between January and February 2025 and represents a unique opportunity to delve into topics related to industrial tourism and the role of the ecomuseum as a development tool for businesses and the territory.

The first event, scheduled for today, January 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM, will focus on "Industrial Tourism: New Trends in the Sector and the Role of Stakeholders." The conference will feature two prominent experts: Martha Friel, Associate Professor at IULM University in Milan, and Marco Giampieretti, Lawyer and Researcher at the University of Padua. The discussion will explore the evolution of industrial tourism, emphasizing how companies and institutions can collaborate to enhance and promote industrial heritage.

The second conference, set for Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM, will address "The Ecomuseum as a Development Tool for Businesses and the Territory." Speakers will include Ugo Bianco, Director and advertising entrepreneur, and Giovanni Luigi Fontana, Honorary Professor at the University of Padua. This session will delve into how the eyewear ecomuseum can act as a catalyst for the economic development of the region, strengthening the identity of local businesses and integrating with the area's artisanal tradition.

Finally, on February 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM, a round table titled "The Management of the Ecomuseum" will be held. This session will focus on the practical and strategic management of the Ecomuseum, with the participation of representatives from local businesses, institutions, and other regional stakeholders. The round table will provide an important opportunity for discussion on management practices and the synergies that can be developed between the industry, culture, and tourism sectors.

The conferences are organized with the support of Fondazione Cariverona, Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti, ANFAO (National Association of Optical Goods Manufacturers), EBO (Bilateral Entity for Eyewear), dBC (Department of Cultural Heritage, Archaeology, Art History, Cinema, and Music), Certottica, Associazione Alto Bellunese, and the municipalities of Pieve di Cadore and Calalzo di Cadore.

These events are part of a broader program promoting the Ecomuseum of Belluno Eyewear, set within a context of sustainable development for the region, with a particular focus on industrial tourism as a lever for economic growth and the enhancement of local traditions.
