As part of a large-scale multi-year plan for takeovers in the sector, Omisan Farmaceutici S.r.l. has acquired 100% shares in Schalcon S.p.A.
Schalcon is an Italian manufacturer of contact lenses and solutions, founded in 1977. The group has always stood out for its investments in technology, innovation, design, comfort and safety, in total alignment with the spirit of Italian manufacturing excellence. Currently, the group operates in 32 countries worldwide as well as in Italy.
The Omisan Group expansion project recently involved a similar acquisition, of Optosan Italia. This brings the number of extraordinary corporate transactions in the last two years to three, offering the Group a turnover of over 30 million euro in over 70 countries worldwide. The company currently employs 160 staff and is among the top ten in the industry in Europe, as well as being one of the few companies with manufacturing plants of contact lenses and solutions in Europe.
In financial terms, Omisan Farmaceutici ended the first semester of 2021 with a significant increase of over 15% in sales, as compared with the same period of 2020.
For 2022, the company has announced that it is evaluating a project for the acquisition of 100% shares in another two companies in the sector.
