Polaroid Eyewear supports the Citizen science project M.A.R.E.

Polaroid Eyewear has been confirmed as technical sponsor of the sailing school Centro Velico Caprera for the 2022 season and, concurrently, will support the M.A.R.E. project (Marine Adventure for Research & Education), set up by the centre itself with One Ocean Foundation. The brand will accompany the crew of One, a 45-foot catamaran equipped like a small laboratory, which will sail around the entire Tyrrhenian Sea visiting 24 marine protected areas.

An on-board team of biologists and naturalists will carry out analyses, measuring and monitoring for twelve weeks of sailing to discover our seas.

Polaroid has reinforced its eco-friendly character in its choice of bio-based and recycled materials for eyeglasses and sunglasses.

The bio-based materials are sturdy and derived from natural resources such as bio-polyamides composed of 50% castor oil (ethically sourced) and eco-acetate derived from cellulose cotton fibre (with FSC certification: Forest Stewardship Council).
