Let the show begin!
The 53^ edition of MIDO began today with visitors from all over the world (about +15% of pre-registered compared to last year) and over 1,200 exhibitors, including 150 new entries, distributed in 7 pavilions and 8 exhibition areas: to accommodate them all, 1,000 square meters more exhibition space has been added than in the previous edition.
The edition that opened today is already confirmed as a nerve center of business, a fundamental moment for operators in the sector who find here opportunities to network, make business agreements, train and find information on the news of world eyewear.
MIDO is also an unmissable event for Italian companies, which are eagerly awaiting this international showcase to enhance the excellence of Made in Italy. Confirming the leading role of the event, the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso was also present, participating in the inauguration ceremony together with the President of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana, the Director General of ICE Agency Lorenzo Galanti, the Councilor of the Municipality of Milan Alessia Cappello and the President of MIDO and ANFAO Lorraine Berton.
"MIDO is an essential event for our sector, the only one where the entire eyewear supply chain is represented. Only here at Fieramilano are we able to welcome so many exhibitors and visitors from all over the world. For this reason, MIDO represents an indispensable stage also, and above all, for Made in Italy eyewear: a resilient sector, capable of accepting and always facing new challenges. Also in light of the evolution of foreign markets, the primary basin of our eyewear, our sector must adapt to new consumption dynamics, strengthening communication on the long-term benefits linked to the quality, innovation and sustainability of Italian products, of which we are proud standard-bearers," commented President Lorraine Berton.
"Italians were the first with their excellence to transform eyewear from a health tool to a fashion element up to the product with the highest technological content with the high functions of a mobile phone, a PC and a watch - said the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso. An extraordinary technological revolution that will allow Italian companies that must move on this path to be at the forefront in the world once again, thus marking the excellence of Made in Italy".
