Glasses are the new jewels, art and design around eyewear

Written by MIDO | 08/18/2019

Until 2 November, the Pieve di Cadore Museum of Eyewear will be hosting the exhibition Glasses are the new jewels, art and design around eyewear, curated by the designer and lecturer Emanuela Bergonzoni.

Originating from the desire to promote her research work in the field of eyewear design and to introduce the most deserving students in her courses, the exhibition includes the prototypes of glasses from the Human Work Project collection, created as educational material for the Accessory Design Course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. The event is enriched with the display of her artistic research, which influenced the planning and the appearance of her models of spectacles.

Moreover, there is a permanent display of the hand-crafted prototypes of glasses made by the students of the School of Fashion Design, of Product Design, and of the School of Art and Environment Decoration of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, as well as the works of Sara Casalboni from the Painting School of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, and Alice Zanelli, Marina Zani and Carlotta Barbarito from the Mosaic School of the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna.
