The Gala, formally named the Costume Institute Gala, is designed to raise funds to benefit the Costume Institute of the Matropolitan Museum of Art in New. Each spring, the event celebrates the specific theme of the year's Costume Institute exhibition, outlining the evening's formal attire guidelines. The 2023 edition is dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld, the undisputed master who passed away in 2019, with the exhibition Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
