The beginning of January brings two extraordinary partnerships: St!ng, the Gruppo De Rigo house brand dedicated to young people, and the iconic Italian footwear brand Superga have created a new co-branding project: St!ng X Superga; while Oliver Peoples has created an exclusive sunglasses model with the multifaceted creative talent of Fai Khadra, who has established a strong reputation in the world of design, gathering fans globally from the fields of music, luxury brands and art galleries. Finally, Oakley signed a multi-year partnership with French footballer and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé.
The first project, St!ng X Superga, is composed of 4 unisex models – 2 sunglasses and 2 prescription with magnetic clip-on lenses – and draws on the heritage of the two Italian brands with numerous details that evoke the iconic Superga sneakers.
Fai’s sunglasses feature a vintage frame which he himself sourced. From that base, Fai worked with a design team from Oliver Peoples to further develop the stylish retro-skinny shape of the glasses. The collaborative project is presented with a bold and minimalist campaign, with Fai and photographer Hugo Comte taking charge of artistic direction. Shot in black and white, the campaign pays homage to Robert Longo, focusing on figures in movement. Fai, alongside international model Jordan Daniels, wears a classic suit to match the minimalist design of the glasses.
As for Oakley's partnership with Mbappé, the soccer player will be the face of the Oakley lifestyle eyewear collection, which will also feature Kato, a radical model who has revolutionized the industry since his appearance in 2021. "Be Who You Are," the new chapter of the brand's campaign, will retrace the steps of the young champion by shining a spotlight on his personality and spirit.
Mbappé will put his irresistible energy and personality at the service of the brand, supporting the launch of other products in the years to come.
