Saturday 9 September brought the finale of the 80th Venice Film Festival, with a victorious result for the film “Poor Things!” by Greek director Yorgos Lànthimos. This “shoo-in” nonconformist Golden Lion winner was a hit with the international press. The film is based on the book of the same name written by Alasdair Gray, with the main character Bella Baxter (played by Emma Stone) representing a sort of ante litteram feminist.
Once again this year, Venice acted as a huge showcase not only for the cinema, but also for fashion and eyewear, which took a front-row seat.
Here we show you some of the looks seen on the red carpet.
Adriano Giannini @ Lozza
In Venice to present the film “Adagio” by Stefano Sollima, the Italian actor wore two pairs of sunglasses from Lozza, showing off true Italian style to the world. In the photo, he is wearing model SL4313_700.
Arianna Montefiori @ Tommy Hilfiger
The Italian actress opted for a Tommy Hilfiger total look: a tartan varsity jacket, single-breasted black leather blazer, black leather mini-skirt, oversized Oxford shirt, silk tie, long ribbed socks, and black leather Hilger loafers. The look was completed with a pair of Tommy Hilfiger Monogram sunglasses.
Caterina Murino @ Silhouette
Internationally-known actress and iconic Bond Girl in Casino Royale, Caterina Murino acted as official hostess of the Festival and wore a selection of Silhouette glasses and sunglasses throughout the event. In this photo, she is wearing the Cadaqués Rimless Shades model, with a nod to the 70’s in its oversized and ultralight lenses.
