This year, the Spanish company Etnia Barcelona is strengthening its position with the creation of the Etnia Eyewear Culture Group. The change coincides with the launch of three new independent brands: Allpoets - a collection of bio-glasses with ISCC certification, Lool - a brand offering ultra-light glasses, acquired last October, and The Readers - ready-to-wear reading glasses in injection-moulded biodegradable acetate.

The group’s growth plan is assisted by a 15 million euro investment, to increase the factory production capacity, renovate the Barcelona headquarters and implement a new management system.
Furthermore, the group has reinforced its team, continuing to focus on quality human resources to make the growth plan feasible.
Etnia Barcelona closed 2021 with a growth rate of 16% compared to 2019 and 30% to 2020.

David Pellicer, founder of Etnia Barcelona, commented on the changes in his company: “We arrived at this point by listening to our optician customers and challenging the market rules; when we started, we were just four crazy people with a passion for eyewear, and now we are more than 600. We want to push beyond the borders in the eyewear industry, the world is changing quickly and consumers want brands with a mission and new products with principles. The creation of these unique brands is our response to our way of seeing the world today.
