Digital fashion like you’ve never seen before!

The last days of Milan Fashion Week were beset by the Coronavirus. The baton then passed to Paris where the autumn/winter 2020/2021 fashion shows will be taking place until Tuesday, 2 March.

71 fashion shows and 25 presentations are programmed, and these are also in trouble due to the health emergency posed by the Coronavirus. While shows by big names ranging from Dior, Saint Laurent and Celine to Louis Vuitton, Balmain... have not undergone changes, six Chinese designers have had to cancel scheduled events due to the epidemic: Masha Ma, Jarel Zhang, Maison Mai, Calvin Luo, Shiatzy Chen and Uma Wang (who opted for a presentation).

In order to meet these designers halfway, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the French government body that promotes fashion, has created an initiative similar to China We are with You, the digital platform tested in Italy by MFW and produced by the National Chamber for Italian Fashion. In seven days, China We are with You provided video coverage of 54 fashion shows and enabled the production of seventy videos that were viewed on the main Chinese web platforms by over 400 million users.

The 50th edition of MIDO will be held from 5 to 7 July, but in the meantime it has produced the digital platform MIDO4U (which is accessible by all visitors registered at MIDO 2020). By visiting www.mido4u.com, companies can upload their collections to give buyers the chance to see their products and contact the exhibitors directly. The platform will be open to visitors from Tuesday, 3 March until Friday, 3 July.
