Craving MIDO: a talk with Kenmark Eyewear.

Craving MIDO: a talk with Kenmark Eyewear.

MIDO is back, in person and in complete safety, at the Fiera Milano Rho venue from 30 April to 2 May 2022. The event is set to be a must-do for the whole sector, both in terms of its role as a privileged observatory and as an international point of reference in the worlds of design, fashion, culture and business. MIDO is also a hub that reflects an entire industry, for reflection and rethinking about eyewear in all its aspects and details, a showcase for final users. As the next important edition approaches, we have interviewed some of the key players.

Today we give the floor to Marissa Cundiff, VP of Marketing at Kenmark Eyewear.

How is Kenmark positioned in eyewear?

This is our 50th year in business! We produce quality, handcrafted, designed from scratch eyewear and sunglasses and have both independent brands and licensed brands.

How has your company evolved over the last five years?

Over the last five years we’ve been a lot of time and resources into growing our digital spaces, working to become as sustainable as possible and putting emphasis on building our customer relationship and creating new relationships. Our emphasis on digital and sustainability has really helped us grow overall as a company and love to see how far we’ve come while continuing to work towards our goals. We reach and gain so many of our customers through our digital platforms and it’s been so fun seeing that rise through the years.

How is your global presence organized?

We sell our brands globally through both distributors and some sales reps we have in key locations!

What is the impact of sustainability on Kenmark?

This is so important to us. We’ve spent a lot of time and resources researching how to become more eco-friendly in everything we do. We’re launching our Paradigm ISCC certified styles on April 22 and are so proud of this special collection, it’s our first, with more to come! We’re continually working to make our POP and cases as eco-friendly as possible, working on them being made from recycled materials and/or recyclable. We are also currently working through all of our packaging with the goal of our shipping packages to be fully curbside recyclable. Our sustainability journey is something we’ve been working on for years and still have so many goals and things we’re working to improve upon. Being kind to our environment and caring about the Earth is super important to us as a company and we strive to do the best we can!

Kenmark and corporate social responsibility: is a real binomial?

Corporate social responsibility is something that is also so important to us. We have a team dedicated to ensuring everything we do is up to our expectations always, as we have very high ethical values. Our factories go through rigorous audits and and are held to these expectations continually. We also look to be as diverse as possible in what we create, we want our brands to be as well represented as possible.

Why did you decide to attend Mido again this year?

We are so excited to be back at MIDO again this year. This show is so important to our business and love being able to see our customers face to face. We feel it’s awesome exposure into the European market and beyond and love the opportunity to create relationships with new customers as well. The show is always full of positive energy and can’t wait to see what this one brings for us.
