Confindustria Moda and Mittelmoda International Lab sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Confindustria Moda, the Italian umbrella association representing the textile, fashion and accessory sector, and Mittelmoda International Lab have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the young talents of students in fashion design and other professions necessary to the sector, in addition to the international enhancement of Made in Italy.

The agreement, signed in the headquarters of Confindustria Moda in Milan by the Chairman, Claudio Marenzi, and by Matteo Marzotto, Chairman of Mittelmoda International Lab, provides for the promotion and implementation of several synergic initiatives to nationally and internationally enhance young talents of the sector in the best possible way.

In a sector, which will see the need for more than 50 thousand new employees over the next two years, the agreement has the intent of further consolidating relations between companies and training institutions (at all levels) and increase the international role of Made in Italy, favouring young talent in all sectors of the chain of the value of the Italian fashion system

The key initiative of those that will be undertaken is the international competition “International Lab of Mittelmoda” – The Fashion Award”, now in its 26th edition and which yearly involves more than 650 fashion schools and academies embracing 60 nations; from this year, there will also be a special focus on eyeglasses, bags, shoes, accessories, textiles and materials, in addition to the traditional fashion and knitwear products.

The students can send their applications and enter the competition by 15 May 2009 on this site https://mittelmoda.com/.

The prize-giving ceremony will take place in Milan on 16 September 2019, at the next edition of Micam. The event, world leader in footwear, has wanted to host the conclusive moment of this major international competition.

The Chairman of Confindustria Moda, Claudio Marenzi, has commented. “One of the key objectives of the Federation is to enhance and support the training of specialists of the entire Italian fashion system, especially at a time like this in which there is a great need for technical expertise. The goal of this partnership with the Mittelmoda Association is to attract new talents, rewarding their creativity and commitment with one of the most prestigious international awards of the sector and continue to keep important a sector which is the pride of the Country”.

Matteo Marzotto, Chairman of Mittelmoda International Lab, has declared: “I believe that the memorandum just signed with Confindustria Moda gives great added value to Mittelmoda International Lab. The connection with the world of production further strengthens a brand, which has committed itself for 25 years to keeping alive the contact with fashion schools worldwide, in a continuous dialogue, rich in innovation and creative sensitivity. This has now become a traditional appointment of strong international standing for all fashion-scouting specialists.
