Celebrating past design in the present

Gebrüder Thonet Vienna - the historic furnishing accessories company from Austria - has won its first Red Dot Award. The N.200 lounge chair by renowned designer Michael Anastassiades was awarded the Red Dot Best of the Best 2020 in the category Home and Seating Furniture. An international guarantee of excellence introduced for the first time in 1955, Red Dot is now one of the highest and oldest awards in the world of design.

A prestigious acknowledgement of the company’s ability to transform the value of the past into an asset for the future thanks to the combination with visions of elegant design. Together with Michael Anastassiades’ creation N.200, it has once again reinterpreted its genetic code and archetypes: steam-bent wood and Vienna woven cane. These become the distinguishing features of N.200 , where method and form come together to create a timeless chair with a deliberately clean, minimalist elegance.
